Wind Dancers

5x9 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper painted last week using an earlier sketch from life. I used yellow wildflowers from the vacant lot next door then colored some purple as well as the background in the first painting; this one, however, was cerulean blue for sky. Cattails and Wildflowers

Yellow Weed floral

9x9 alcohol inks on freezer paper done a few days ago from imagination, remembering the small yellow flowers that bloom on weeds around west Texas.  I used 3 yellows and a gold plus tangerine orange and two different greens.  Wildflowers do have amazing little flowers!

Sunflowers and Tulips

14x11 watercolor on Ampersand Aquabord, brush only, no predrawing, done today.  Prompted by the wild weeds that resemble sunflowers and a few other yellow wildflowers, I added the red orange tulips, although you wouldn't see them growing together. It is my first time to work on Aquabord and really did like its clay surface; it has a 2" cradle around its edges, so frame and glass unnecessary.

Wildflowers - Yellow Primrose

15x22 watercolor of yellow evening primrose, a common roadside flowering weed or wildflower.  I photographed these close up growing in the vacant lot next door then painted them.  This painting was my first one accepted into the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies a few years ago in Surprise, Arizona.
