Wistful Stray Kitty
6x6 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper painted again after another version a few years ago. I love this kitty's golden eyes so translucent and her bright pink interior ear. The look in her eyes may be saying 'adopt me' or 'when is my next meal?' Background is a mix of two opaques (they say never to mix more than one) Payne's Grey and Blue Bice which is a nice cool and soft tone to contrast with the golden colors in the cat's fur and eyes.

Exhaused Cat #InkTober 2018
8.5x5.5 watercolor and ink on Masters sketchbook for day 7 of #InkTober; the prompt was 'exhausted'. Immediately I thought of our cats who always are stretched out, sound asleep somewhere.

Wistful Kitty
6x6 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper done today, a pencil sketch the painting of a part calico stray cat I've worked on in the past, just different poses. I love this kitty's golden eyes so translucent and her bright pink interior ear. A few days ago I did a very loose cat in watercolor so will post it soon. The look in her eyes may be saying 'adopt me' or 'when is my next meal?' Background is a mix of two opaques (they say never to mix more than one) Payne's Grey and Blue Bice which is a nice cool and soft tone to contrast with the golden colors in the cat's fur and eyes.

Calico Cat Resting
8x5 watercolor and ink on paper done yesterday. Micron 01 pen used to sketch. People have sent photos to me of their cats after I painted Glamour Puss, the chimera calico with a checkerboard face of orange tabby and black with tortoiseshell body. This one is really a cutie pie!

Motherly Love Cats
6x6 watercolor and ink line on Masters paper, painted late last fall but never posted. In this imaginary maternal scene, mama calico cat holds her gray tabby baby kitten close to her. He seems totally content in his mother's arms while they both sleep and dream of tuna, shrimp, and chicken...or something...

Hallie cat at the window
6x6 watercolor, ink and line wash with Pigma Micron 01 pen drawn on Masters paper and painted today. Hallie is a tortoiseshell kitty, just turning 2 years old, who adopted me. Never a fan of the mottled black and orange coat, I was reluctant to keep her, but her happy little soul sweetness bowled me over. Now if I can only get the other cat to love her.
