Open Field

7x9 watercolor using White Nights paints done last week for another Landscape forum challenge on WetCanvas; ref courtesy Matilda. With this one I liked the openness of the field, the bright color mid-ground and the shadow covering it from the foreground upwards. This is on 80 lb paper in Master's Touch sketchbook. Backcountry Barn

12x9 watercolor on Fluid 140 lb cold press paper sketched this morning then painted this afternoon, an imaginary country scene of a rundown old barn.  The rocky landscape foreground was fun to paint wet in wet in layers as was the middle ground.  The fence is still up so suppose someone is running cattle.  Storm clouds are building up overhead. When dry, splattering was done for texture.
