Sweet Eyes Puppy

3x5.25 watercolor on Italia 140 lb cold press paper and White Nights paints done today.  I could not resist this puppy with the sweet eyes and do not remember where he was photographed.  First time to try out the new paints that are made in Russia that a lot of artists seem to enjoy using.

Lab Puppy

22x15 watercolor on 140 lb smooth/soft press paper painted a few years ago of an imaginary yellow lab puppy playing in a flowerbed of lilies.  Splattering was done when dry.  Paints used are Daniel Smith and DaVinci.

Belles sketch

8.5x5.5 watercolor and ink on Masters sketch paper done over the weekend.  Using a Uniball pen I drew another version of Annabelle "Belles", a field spaniel, commission.  In this close up view, it was easy to see her long hair across her face and her warm brown eyes.  This work is SOLD.

I drew this Yorkshire terrier puppy of Cheryl Joy's yesterday while we drove to Midland, then painted her today quickly.  When I photographed her, she tilted her head back and I thought it was a cute pose.  She is the main watchdog at the Heritage Museum in Big Spring, TX.

Red - spaniel

Double Trouble Pups

6x8.5 watercolor of two Border collie mix puppies belonging to Grace on WetCanvas! She featured them on the current Weekend Drawing Event in which an artist has only 2 hours to draw and paint one of the sixteen photos.  I did this one in an hour.  Next month is my turn to host a WDE so have been busy taking different shots to post for our worldwide participants.  Grace and pups live in Australia.
