Yellow Umbrella and Chairs
5.5x8.5 watercolor on Masters Touch 80 lb sketchbook paper sketched a few days ago of a summer beach scene. This was done for an online challenge and is available on www.DailyPaintworks.com in my gallery section. With the blue ocean framing the marine scape the yellow umbrella looks fresh and ready for visitors.

Sperm Whale
8x8 watercolor on Italia 140 lb cold press paper painted last week for Facebook page All Animals Watercolor challenge. This paper does not blend well so lots of water had to be used to paint the blue water. Note reflections above the gigantic creature.

Lookout Gull
12x6 watercolor done last week, brush only, so no pencil drawing or sketch first. This fellow was from one of my Indian Rocks Beach photos taken in August last year. I used a fairly limited palette of raw umber, UB, Coastal Fog, and indigo. Support used: Strathmore 140 lb cold press paper.

Lobster Pots
6x8.5 watercolor and ink with Micron 01 pen drawn and painted today for WetCanvas' weekend drawing event. Photo is a crop of the ref provided by Kathy Mackay that she took in Newfoundland. It was a grey overcast day and I was taken by the pile of lobster pots or traps by the boathouse, the boat and otherwise ordinary marine scene. I have missed doing the line and wash paintings of various subjects.
