Wild Purple Roses

8.5x5 mixed media on paper card begun with various alcohol inks.  No pattern excited me until I took out a white gel pen and began doing line work around the shapes to form rose blooms, stems, and leaves.  Some collage can be seen lower right in this fairly abstracted floral.

#InkTober day 22 ~ White Aspens

14x11 white India ink outlines of trees on Stratmore Toned Tan sketch paper 80 lb for today's ink work for #InkTober. I filled in the tree trunks by stamping torn corrugated cardboard I'd brushed white acrylic paint on; branches are white India ink by Dr. Ph Martin.  White gel pen also used for signature and detail.  White dots for snow are India ink.

Urban Pigeon ~ alcohol ink

7.75x8.5 alcohol ink in black on foamcore with white gel pen pigeon sketch done today.  This is the same bird used yesterday.  Already I had splattered the ink and spritzed with alcohol to make it run, just experimenting with black on white, and thought the large drip blob lower left looked like bird droppings.  It is interesting to see the colors within black ink as it separated out, some blues and reds in there.  Definitely an urban feel to this bird painting.
