Billboard on a Barn
9x12 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Canson paper done last week, another imaginary old barn scene complete with its old fashioned advertisement to chew Mail Pouch tobacco. In this vignette, I tried to show the passage of time in its ongoing decaying roof and structure.

Red Barn Chickens
22x15 watercolor of chickens on the farm pecking around the hay bales
below the quintessential red barn. Just as the rooster crowed to
welcome new hot sunny days we are glad to see warmer temperatures in Texas.

Distant Barn
6.25x9 watercolor on Lanaquarelle 140 lb hot press paper an imaginary country landscape anyone would want to visit or live. Midsummer colors will quickly fade as the days get shorter and wild meadow flowers a pleasant memory. Splatters were made on wet paper then dry using a large round #12 brush.

Approaching Storm, Red Barn
3x4 watercolor on Langton 140 lb cold press paper done today. Starting with two pours for the sky, colors were laid in on very wet paper, allowed to dry, then imaginary barn sketched in pencil and painted. Weather over the past 24 hours was the inspiration for this miniature country landscape.
