Quiet Cowboy

8.5x5.5 watercolor using White Nights paints on Canson 117 lb cold press paper done last few days of August while on a trip. For now, this cowboy is the last imaginary portrait I will be doing. This guy looks so quiet and contemplating his next job or duty while working hard outdoors. COPYRIGHT Kay Smith 2026

Prairie Wind Cowboy

6x6 watercolor in sketchbook done last week; it is on 80 lb paper in Master's Touch. I've used four different brown pigments including new Schmincke color of Desert Brown that granulates in this imaginary scene. This guy is watching the turbulent prairie sky and clouds. COPYRIGHT Kay Smith 2026
