Bed of Roses Kitten

15x11 watercolor using White Nights paints on 140 lb cold press paper done a few weeks ago. Using an earlier photo I took when Salty was a kitten, I quickly sketched her relaxing pose by the silk rose pillow. She is all white but for a splotch of dark grey on her head and pale grey at tip of her tail. Those yellow eyes are mesmerizing. COPYRIGHT Kay Smith 2026

Sleepy Pearl

6x6 watercolor using White Nights paints on Masters Touch sketchbook done last week while off in the cool mountains. I must have been missing studio kitty, Pearl. This is from a photo taken of her laying in her usual spot in front of the east windows. COPYRIGHT 2023 Kay Smith

Elegant White Cat

16x12 watercolor on Italia 140 lb cold press paper done yesterday from photo composites.  This breed is called a Foreign White cat and is bred from true Eastern Siamese to white haired ones resulting in the long slender shaped head with large ears.  Sleek and trim this breed presents as a very elegant pet to have or to show.

Blanca cat and Blankets

15x22 watercolor of a white cat on black and white southwestern style blankets.  This is an older work where I was experimenting with using only black watercolor on Strathmore Gemini 140 lb hot press paper (we use the white of the paper instead of white paint with watercolor).
