Bare Branches Winter House ~ day 10 of 30 paintings in 30 days challenge
10x14 watercolor on 140 lb hot press paper that is featured for day 10 today on Leslie Saeta's 30 day challenge. Since mostly white snow against a white frame house the background and some modeling of the trees and windows was all that was necessary.

Spruced up for Winter ~ day 5 of 30 paintings in 30 days challenge
14x10 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper painted partly wet in wet in the snow and spruce tree areas. I liked the round roof of the front porch of this old Victorian style home. The cold grey skies add a bit of chill to the wintry scene.

January Snowy Landscape
5x7 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper of first of the year snow along a country road. The sun has come
out and promised clearer skies for those who wait. We still have ice on our front walk so maybe soon it will be gone. Colors used: Quinacridone burnt orange and gold, UB, cobalt, Prussian blue, a mixed violet of alizarin and the blues.

Snow Dog
11x15 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, drawn and painted today. An imaginary background and foreground were put in to go with my white dog photo that was actually a water scene. An upcoming exhibition theme is animals in snow, hence the winter environment and landscape. I love to paint white subjects in watercolor.
