'Slice' knife ~ #InkTober2018 day 31

5x8 ink (Micron 01 pen) on sketchbook done today as the very last of #InkTober2018.  Today's prompt was the word 'slice' either a noun or a verb.  I sketched this quickly from life using a small paring knife purchased at the dollar store.  Crosshatching was done for the black handle.  #InkTober2018 was fun following the prompts each day and I did not post each one on this blog, mainly because some were pretty bad.  Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe.

12x9 India ink on collaged vintage book text and paper doily collage done over last weekend. I really like this imaginary woman's haircut and her dainty dress.  The doily was left over from other projects so only used a snippet of it on her right shoulder for some added lace.

Hypnotic Hollyhocks

16x12 watercolor on 140 lb Arches cold press paper done this afternoon for a 2 hour timed online event. I managed to go over by 4 minutes.  The pristine white hollyhocks take center stage as they guard the garden. Look closely and you can see orange tiger lilies peeking through at center bottom.  The old fashioned, tall stately blooms never cease to put me into an hypnotic state almost.
