Pam's Boot

A Trunk Show

15x22 watercolor, Brusho, and black India ink on 140 lb cold press paper recently redone as one of my pieces for the fall Caboose Watercolor Society show "A Brush with Creativity". Opening day is Saturday, Sept. 17 from 1130-1:30 at Heritage museum 510 Scurry in Big Spring. The concept was when planning this exhibit to enhance, redo, or rearrange elements in existing paintings. These imaginary elephants only had pale color plus the ink outlines. I added grey, tan, and black Brusho crystals to focus on the animals' skin. Dates for show: Sept. 17 - Oct. 29, 2022. Sunflower Petals in the Wind

9x12 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, a painting demo done on Monday for art students. Roughly I sketched in pencil the sunflower petals and stem in almost a blind contour method (to remain loose), then laid in colors in 15 minutes. Autumn Mood

With a loaded brush #12 Escoda round I put random colors together instead of the usual boring black and brown or tan. When almost done I wet a few areas then dropped ink in splotches. Heatwave

15x22 watermedia on 140 lb cold press paper, of various sunflower faces. It began with loose yellow washes in acrylic and progressed to laying stretched gauze over center area then flooding with various warm hues such as quinacridone violet/magenta, etc. Gauze was lifted when dry. Pine Siskin

9x4.75 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper, first done in 2016, then last week I did an experiment with the bird art, pouring pale pink/pale blue acrylic. After letting the acrylics (mixed with silicone) settle, I rinsed off the paint under the faucet before they could dry.
