Southwest Style
9x5.5 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper painted today, a southwestern style adobe house landscape, complete with clay pots of cactus and yucca. In this imaginary scene I've tried to indicate the hot climate and carefree lifestyle of the area. From the red tile roof to stucco walls one can imagine living here in the desert.

Ruidoso Road
11x15 watercolor on 140 lb Kilimanjaro paper, American Journey paints from my photo taken one March years ago up on Sierra Blanca mountain. I added the warm colored bushes here that were not there for added interest. This road seemed to be going off the mountain side into nowhere.

Tall Geraniums
9x2 watercolor on Canson 117 lb cold press done in December while on a trip out of town. The vertical narrow format would be fine matted and framed or simply used as a fancy bookmark. This imaginary floral watercolor is just enough to prompt longings of spring.

Mid January Snow
8x8 watercolor using White Nights paints done a few days ago while on a trip to New Mexico where there was snow. Unlike west Texas wind and sand the white stuff was a welcome sight (even though not much had fallen). In this imaginary winter landscape I have painted wet in wet for the blended sky and used mostly burnt sienna, UB, and quin gold for a fairly neutral toned scene.

Snowbanks
5.5x8.5 mixed media painted on New Year's Day to usher in the new calendar and hopefully some snow. I used a white crayon on dry Master's Touch sketchbook page for mixed media first. Then added watercolor with Daniel Smith's Moonglow, and white gouache. Not much time this day as we were traveling so a simple winter landscape had to do. No photo reference.
