4x6 watercolor and white gouache done last week over a magazine card from New Mexico publication. This old fellow lives north of Lamesa, TX on the Stevens place. When we drive by he is usually resting like this and was when I shot the photo a few years ago. Now he has another longhorn for company there.

Sycamore
6.25x4.25 watercolor on Bristol 100 lb/300 series paper done last week from another online challenge. Photo courtesy Virginia Spencer/WetCanvas. Love the bark on these trees. Even though this is a miniature it took a long time to get the leaves and branches just right.

Tom Cat and Leaves
5x9 watercolor on Fluid 140 lb cold press paper sketched yesterday and painted today. The tom cat photo was provided by fellow artist Dewi in Thailand and I've added my own fall leaves and elongated shadows. In the photo the fellow had only half his tail so with artistic license I've given him his lovely tail back.

Texas Jack
John Wilson Vermillion, also known as " Jack" or later as
"Shoot-Your-Eye-Out Vermillion," was a gunfighter of the Old West known
for his participation in the Earp Vendetta Ride and his later
association with Soapy Smith (Wikipedia). Mixed media in my junk journal using Micron 01 pen, charcoal,
watercolor, colored pencils, oil pastels, acrylic markers, alphabet ink
stamps, 8.25x5.25, done last days of September. When time allows I'm still exploring notorious outlaws of the wild west in my series on them.
