Red Lion Amaryllis

15x22 watercolor floral, drawn and painted from life a few Christmases ago.  I left the background white in an attempt to make the red blooms more vibrant.  Support used is 140 lb cold press paper with DaVinci/Daniel Smith paints.

This has so much life in it. The real spirit of a blooming flower. I am glad you left the background white. It lets the flower pop and is symbolic of when these plants bloom in our houses it is usually white outside.
