Anna's Hummingbird

9x7 watercolor and black Brusho on Canson 140 lb. cold press paper done today over a pencil sketch of my Anna's hummer photo. All areas of this work were spritzed with a small mister before applying color. Brusho was the perfect solution to the grey/black breast of this small bird, giving some detail but not a lot. With such very tiny legs and feet, the hummingbird cannot walk around as other birds do, but must fly. COPYRIGHT 2021 Kay Smith

Awww, so sweet. We had one get stranded on the floor of Gene’s shop the other day when it was cold. I held it on my hand for about 30 minutes and it flew off my hand and lost site of it around the bottom of the shed. I didn’t find it so don’t know if it survived. I forgot they didn’t walk.

Woven Flowers of Passion

15x22 work is actually two identically painted scenes of pink roses in front of a house. The original was ho-hum boring so a few years late...
