Red Hots
30x22 watercolor on 140 lb hot press paper, an earlier southwestern image from one of my photos taken at a Ruidoso Downs private home, a stucco wall with a chile ristra hanging in the sun. Coated with white gesso, the paints went on smoothly allowing for lots of texture. Painted in 2005, this image was featured in Southwest Art magazine the following year. I may paint the old wall again as Red Hots was sold.
